Job Description:

The City of Columbia is establishing an eligibility list for the position of Firefighter. This will be a continuing recruitment process.  Beginning annual salary starting at $33,554 based on 2764 annual hours worked.

Civil Service Testing: Successful completion of an agility test will be required to qualify applicant to take a written examination. Civil Service examination date and time will be announced to qualified applicants by email after closing date. Drug screen, physical examination, and background check will be required prior to employment. Experience and Skills:

Requirements: High school diploma or GED, 18 years of age, Class D Driver’s License, and must possess Tennessee E.M.T. or National Board E.M.T. certification by time of hire. Must possess and maintain Tennessee E.M.T. license as condition of continued employment. Applicant must submit a copy of E.M.T. license if certified when application is submitted.  Attach document online or submit to Human Resources at City Hall.
