Job Description:

Temporary Position. Operates heavy and other specialized equipment in the Wastewater Department. Performs scheduled maintenance and repairs on city streets, right-of-ways, alleys, medians, storm water drainage systems, and retention basins.  Operates a variety of equipment, machinery and tools used in department projects and activities which may include weed cutters, blowers, mowers, and chainsaws.  Learns to operate dump truck, backhoe, front end loader, water truck, tractors, and associated attachments and other relate equipment.  Assists in asphalt patching and repairing streets after construction and repair of sewer lines. 

Experience and Skills:

High School education or GED, six months to twelve months related experience or training in operating equipment, and valid State of Tennessee Class B Driver's License preferred. Without Class B, the applicant will be given 60 days to obtain CDL from date of hire. Drug screening, physical examination and background check will be required prior to employment.  Civil Service Process:  Not Applicable at this time.  All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex or national origin.
